Chamwino District council is one of the seven districts of the Dodoma Region of Tanzania. It is bordered to the north by Chemba District, to the east by Manyara Region, Kongwa District and Mpwapwa District, to the south by Iringa Region, and to the west by Singida Region, Bahi District and Dodoma District. Its administrative seat is the town of Chamwino. According to the 2012 Tanzania National Census, the population of Chamwino District was 330,543. The Mission of the council is to Ensure that there is optimal utilization of resources to make the community economy health, provides demand driven and high quality social services such as water , education, land , natural resources and environment management , community development and gender mainstreaming, health and HIV and AIDS , anti corruption, energy and power, transport, emergence and disaster management, livestock and agriculture where application of good governance and cost effective technology is placed at the centre of development process. The Vision of the council is To be a leading council that provides high quality and sustainable socio-economic services.
